Expectations
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in mobile F2P or live-service projects
- Experience managing backlogs of large-scale meta systems (not just isolated features)
- Clear understanding of the difference between systems, features, and epics, with the ability to break them down
- Experience working closely with development and game design (ability to read GDDs and technical documentation)
- Ability to work with metrics and define success criteria for features
- Experience defending scope with stakeholders and negotiating estimates with development teams
- Experience in mobile F2P / live-service environments
- Expertise in at least one domain: economy, progression, social systems, or LiveOps
- Basic analytics knowledge (SQL, dashboards)
- Experience working in product teams with large backlogs (10+ systems)
- Experience shipping live products as a Product Owner
- Own and manage the backlog of meta features (10–20 major systems: progression, economy, social systems, clans, LiveOps)
- Define priorities across quarters (Q1, Q2, beyond)
- Defend scope: align with Meta Producer on resources and negotiate feasibility with development teams
- Coordinate work between System Game Designers and Feature Owner Game Designers
- Sync with Game Product (gameplay team) to ensure meta decisions align with core gameplay
- Ensure quality of delivered features: scope is met and metrics are measurable
- Regularly sync with the Meta Producer: report on backlog status and escalate risks
- Cross-team alignment with other product verticals
- Analyze post-release performance of meta features: what worked and what didn’t
