Expectations

What we want to see:
  • Strong mathematical and analytical background
  • Three plus years of experience in roles such as Lead, Head, or Product Owner in Economy or Balance
  • Deep understanding of F2P monetization mechanics in mobile games, including virtual currencies, in app purchases, pricing, and funnels
  • Experience working on MMOs, simulators, or games with complex multi layer economies
  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand how changes in one parameter impact the entire economy
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment and clearly communicate economic requirements to designers, developers, and product managers
  • Experience building and developing teams
Additionally, it would be great to have:
  • Experience working as a product analyst
  • Personal experience playing life simulators, role play games, or sandbox MMOs, with a deep understanding of the genre
  • Experience participating in the launch or major rebalance of a live product with an audience of over one million users
  • Experience working on projects with player driven economies, including marketplaces, auctions, and player to player trading
What you will be doing:
  • Driving the development of the game economy, including defining the overall economic vision of the project
  • Ensuring consistency of the economy across the entire product
  • Leading and developing balance designers, including hiring, conducting reviews, and providing feedback
  • Implementing and improving tools for effective analysis, modeling, and monitoring of the game economy
