Expectations
- At least 3 years of commercial experience as a Technical Animator with a strong gameplay focus.
- Ability to implement basic character locomotion from scratch and connect animation with the character controller.
- Hands-on experience with Unity, including solid knowledge of Animator, Blend Trees, Animation Rigging, and Playables API.
- Proficiency in C# at a level sufficient for independent system integration and debugging.
- Clear understanding of skeleton hierarchy, export/import processes, retargeting, and animation compression in Maya or MotionBuilder.
- We are also open to strong candidates from Unreal Engine (AnimBP, Control Rig, IK Rig) who understand the core principles and are ready to transition to Unity.
- Experience working on multiplayer projects, third-person shooters, or mobile games.
- Experience implementing complex traversal mechanics, such as parkour, climbing, Motion Warping, or physical animation.
- Skills in writing automation tools using Python, MEL, or C#.
- Build character locomotion logic (transitions, blending, layers) from scratch without relying on pre-made template plugins.
- Setup combat mechanics, including aiming, shooting, recoil, and weapon grip points.
- Implement inverse kinematics (IK), foot adaptation to uneven terrain (Foot IK), and procedural hit reactions.
- Integrate animations from 3D software into the game engine and connect them with gameplay code.
- Monitor performance, conduct system profiling, and resolve technical issues for target platforms.
- Create internal tools and scripts to automate asset import, export, and content validation.
- Work closely with animators, game designers, and programmers to bring creative ideas to life.
